Frank Auger
President and CEO
Frank Auger brings over 15 years of experience in leading software development and marketing teams to Metallect. As president and CEO of Metallect, Frank is responsible for the overall strategic direction and leadership of the company.
Frank joined Metallect in late 2006 as VP Marketing. Prior to joining Metallect, Frank was part of the founding management team at SilverStream Software, where he served first in quality assurance, later as vice president of research and development and ultimately as vice president of product management and marketing for identity management and SOA when Novell acquired the company. He has also held key positions at Watermark Software and Phoenix Technologies and is well versed in all operational aspects of the software business.
Frank, who recently moved from New England to Texas, enjoys fine wines and playing the guitar and believes that these are best done at the same time. A true workaholic, Frank’s passions are his family, his team, and his customers.
Thomas Hite
CTO and Co-Founder
Tom Hite is responsible for Metallect’s technology strategy. He brings 20 years of executive experience in both early-stage and publicly traded companies. As chief technical officer of Metallect, he is driven by his passion for enterprise systems, service-oriented architectures and his interest in the future of technology, particularly where technology and business intersect.
Prior to co-founding Metallect, Tom was chief technical officer of AMX Corporation (NASDAQ: AMXC), where he led the development of a sophisticated hardware and software platform for home and business automation. Previously, Tom was vice president of software development at AnswerSoft, Inc. prior to its acquisition by Concerto Software (NASDAQ: CRTO).
Tom earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in mechanical engineering at the University of Iowa, and enjoys water skiing and martial arts in his free time.
Bill McGrane
Director of Engineering and Co-Founder
Bill McGrane brings to Metallect more than 25 years of industry experience and technical leadership. As Metallect’s director of engineering, he focuses primarily on the user interface and usability aspects of the product line. Prior to co-founding Metallect, Bill was chief architect and director of software development at AMX Corporation (NASDAQ: AMXC). He also served both as vice president and director of software development at AnswerSoft, Inc. (acquired by Concerto Software). He spent his first seven years in the software industry at Micrografx Inc., a premier Windows graphics software development company, and nearly 10 years developing innovative software solutions for clinical research laboratories at Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.
Bill received a Bachelor of Arts in biology from the University of Texas at Austin.
Chip Caver
Principal Engineer
As principal engineer for Metallect, Chip Caver brings 17 years of web/desktop GUI framework development experience from multiple industries including restaurant, telecom and automation systems. Chip provides critical framework and UI components to all of Metallect's products. Chip brings the team together to agree on proper constructs, architecture, and coding styles and he oversees adherence to those agreements. Chip thrives on pressure - he left the high-pressure restaurant industry for the higher pressure start-up world. His startup experience includes Panja (acquired by AMX Corporation), RadioMyTime and AnswerSoft, Inc. (acquired by Concerto Software) where his product development ranged from multi-user enterprise systems down to IDE applications.
Chip earned his Bachelor of Science in business from Steven F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas, and did his master’s work in Computer Science at North Texas State University. He is an avid sand volleyball player, craves playing the guitar, and has developed exceptional Frisbee skills as dictated by his dog Seraphim.
Omar Jarjur
Principal Engineer
Omar Jarjur, principal engineer, focuses on the language-specific front-ends for Metallect’s IQ Server and XMuddle for Java products. Omar works on the design and implementation of the custom tools that translate the languages supported by Metallect into the intermediate form supported by the back end engines.
Omar has studied the design and implementation of programming languages in depth and focuses primarily on declarative languages and compilation. A true believer in opensource software and community-based development, Omar has worked on an independent open source project for the past four years. His project is based on tying together operating systems and functional programming languages. More about his project is available at losak.sf.net.
Omar received his Bachelor of Science in computer science from the University of Texas at Austin and his Master of Science in computer science from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Luke Simon
Lead Architect
Luke Simon brings more than 10 years of industry experience to Metallect. As lead architect, Luke is the technical leader for Metallect XMuddle for Java. Luke’s design work includes determining the organizational structure, components and specific technologies needed for each aspect of the product. Luke has a passion for programming languages, type systems, static program analysis, and arguing world politics with Omar. Prior to joining Metallect, Luke worked in the telecom industry, created software for hardware companies and designed software used to create flight simulators for major advanced technology companies.
Luke earned his Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and doctorate degree in computer science at the University of Texas at Dallas. He enjoys spending time with his family, jet skiing and boating.
